EYETHIRL

window (n.)
Early Scandinavian including "wind eye" from Old Norse vindauga from vindr "wind" + auga "eye."
Replaced Old English ēagþyrel, literally "eye-hole" and ēagduru, literally "eye-door."

Eyethirl itself, in reference to the eyes as the windows of the soul.
