Glass Bodies

...or how would seeing see itself

Glass Bodies images the bodies and landscapes created in flame-worked and blown glass lenses. In film and photography glass typically participates in its own erasure, as something to be seen through rather than to be seen. Glass Bodies gives agency to glass, bringing  glass out from its position as an absent presence and into focus.

Photographed using blown & flame-worked lenses.
